Brixham’s pretty fishing port and seaside town on the south coast
Brixham is a most appealing town, a bustling port with a vibrant feel all year around. A beautiful natural harbour with colourful cottages on the surrounding hillsides enjoying the constant “buzz” of harbour life. There are many shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs on the waterfront. Just pick a restaurant and sample the local scallops, crab and fish and watch the world go by.
There are plenty of quaint narrow little streets and lanes to enjoy exploring and of course wonderful marine walks along the fish quay, the marina, the Breakwater, Shoalstone Beach and many other coves and inlets.
Berry Head Coast & Country Park is nearby with dramatic coast walks and access to the breathtaking coastal pathway which goes via Sharkham Point to Kingswear.
Brixham is a wonderful place to sail, canoe, fish or just walk around and a great base for exploring Torbay and the South Hams, including Dartmouth and Totnes.
